Our Team

Dr. Lily Hargrove, MD

Dr. Lily is a Jersey Girl who came down to Charlottesville for her residency in 1999 and has been fortunate to practice medicine here ever since. She and her husband James have two boys, Noah and Nate. In her free time she can be found doing crosswords, walking the dogs, or cracking up with her boys.

Dr. Lily uses a holistic combination of knowledge and compassion to help patients find a manageable, individualized path to a healthy mind and body. She is currently pursuing a fellowship in Integrative Medicine through the Arizona Center for Integrative Medicine. Although she is not a yet provider of therapies such as massage, acupuncture, and herbal medicine, she is familiar with many skilled local practitioners and appreciates the benefits they offer. She is committed to remaining current and competent with today’s medical knowledge so she can offer her patients a broad spectrum of therapeutic choices to meet their medical needs.

Chelsea High, Office Manager

Chelsea is a Virginia Girl through and through. She was born and raised in Culpeper and married her high school sweetheart, Cody. They have two beautiful little girls, Lauryn and Kayleigh. In her spare time, you’ll find Chelsea blissfully watching her princesses play, sing, dance, giggle and just love on each other.

You can breathe a sigh of relief knowing that Chelsea is waiting at the office to greet you with her easy, contagious smile. She works tirelessly to make sure that your questions are answered, your concerns are addressed, and that you have a smooth experience with the Charlottesville medical community beyond our doors.

Dewey, PhDog

staff2Dewey is a bouncy and sweet Spaniel/Terrier mix who applied to work with at Ivy Family Medicine in August of 2013. Dewey’s PhD came from the School of Hard Knocks, and he is truly a self made pup. He completed his fellowship in house training and absurd adorableness and officially started his career an office assistant in 2014. He has been lowering blood pressures and cheering up patients in the office ever since. He is always ready to play a game of tug, chase a (very, very small) tennis ball, or sit on laps as needed to support and guide patients on their journey to health. Not a dog person? He will happily head out for a walk or supervise Chelsea in the waiting room during your visit.

Toby, PA (Puppy Assistant)

IMG_1853Toby is a very level headed Min Pin/Chihuahua mix who relocated to Charlottesville to come work at Ivy Family Medicine. He had been employed as a private sitter for an elderly gentleman in Kansas, but then decided he wanted to work with a larger population including pediatrics and adolescents. He finds himself amazed, and sometimes dumbstruck, by their youthful energy. He is a gentle and soothing practitioner, and truly believes in a team approach.  His patient nature and compassionate eyes will encourage you to take charge of your health and permit him to sit on your lap as if it were the most natural thing in the world. Petting him will come so easily that you may not even realize just how good it is for you (and him!).
